Competition Rules
The Les Pick Shield
This is awarded annually for the most consistently successful photographer.
Six internal competitions will be held each year: three for prints and three for digital images. Some of these will have themes and some will be open. There will be an external judge for all competitions
Members may submit up to four images or prints for each competition. Only marks for the best three will count towards the Les Pick Shield. All entries must have a title.
*For prints the title must be on the back of the print with the name of the author. The image size should have a minimum area of 300 sq cm and the mount size should be 500mm x 400mm.
For digital images the file names should be in the form “TITLE by Author.jpg” and have a maximum size in pixels of width 1400 by height 1050.
Depending on total number of entries, it may be necessary to select only three images or prints from all authors. If submitting four entries please indicate the image or print that should be omitted. For digital images this should be in the form of “04 TITLE by Author.jpg”
Prints and digital images should preferably be less than four years old and may be submitted for one internal competition only, regardless of further manipulation, including conversion to monochrome.
Annual Panel of Three Print Competition
Members may submit up to three entries. Entries should consist of three related images. They may be three separate 500mm x 400mm mounts, three separate prints in one 500mm x 400mm mount or three images in one print in a 500mm x 400mm mount. Entries may include one or two images that have previously been entered in internal competitions.
*Rules for print title, author, image size and mount size are the same as above.
