Annual Exhibition 2010

The Exhibition will take place on:
Saturday 5 June 2010
Time:    10am – 5pm
Venue:  Millbrook Village Hall.
We will set up the exhibition on the evening of Friday 4 June 2010.
It will be a public celebration of the work of the club and all our members.  All members will be invited to enter up to 10 prints and 10 digital images and the work of all members who enter will be exhibited.

Awards
There will be three classes for awards: colour prints, monochrome prints and projected digital images. There will be three “silver” trophies and other specially designed certification.
Please refer to the Exhibition Rules for all the details.

The Judge
The judge will be Colin Southgate, FRPS.
He will see the prints and digital images to judge prior to the exhibition day.

Date by which members must submit prints and digital images
This will be in early May 2010.  The exact date and practical arrangements for submission will be announced nearer the time.

Exhibition Catalogue
A catalogue of all prints and digital images will be produced.
Members may indicate if their work is available for sale.

Audience
The intended audience is our relatives, friends, neighbours, our photographic colleagues and the general public.  We will be inviting some VIP guests.

What Members should be doing now
Please reserve these dates in your diary!  Start printing and mounting work for our competitions in the required format for the exhibition – as this could obviously save time and expense later.

Opportunities for members to contribute
We will need much help from members nearer the time and are sure that we can rely on you to volunteer!
For example: with publicity, setting up and dismounting, furniture removal, arranging the hall, catering, running a raffle and/ or tombola, reception…etc.

Exhibition Planning
The planning for the exhibition is being done by a sub committee consisting of Alan Whitcroft, John and José Currant and Chris and Valerie Elliott.
There will be a budget set for the exhibition, we are submitting an application to the Town Council for a grant and there will be an admission charge for visitors.
Please ask any of us if anything is unclear.  We welcome all your ideas, suggestions and offers of help.
We are sure that together we will be able to make this a successful and enjoyable occasion for us all.
